A violin by Agustin Velazquez, made in Xalapa, Mexico in 1989, is a very interesting and good sounding instrument for the advancing player. The Mexican school of violin making rarely gets mentioned but it should. We have seen many very good instruments come to us from Mexico, and this is one of them.


The joinery and workmanship are excellent, and the sound of this violin is very rich and full. The condition is excellent and it recently had a new set up here at Stamell Strings.


If you are looking for a handmade violin at a reasonable price, this is one worth considering.
