Roger Treat, Bow Maker and Repair

ROGER TREAT makes and restores violin family bows and has worked at Stamell Strings since 1996. He studied bow making with Lynn Hannings and George Rubino at the University of New Hampshire Violin Craftmanship Institute. Today his bows are in the hands of players around the United States and Canada.

Bow rehairs and repairs are done on Thursdays at our Amherst location.  Please bring your bow to our shop before Thursday* and it will be done by the end of the day.  All bows that are dropped off in Poughkeepsie will be sent to our Amherst location.

Only the highest quality, unbleached white horse hair is used.
If you cannot make it to our shop, you can ship the bow to us.  Please contact us prior to doing so.
