Matt Stamell performs original material from his last CD as well as new material, accompanied by his Old Friends Craig Eastman and Guy Devito.


Matt Stamell is an instrument maker and restorer as well as a life long folk musician. He owns Stamell Stringed Instruments in Amherst Massachusetts for the past 30 years. His CD Hello Old Friend was released in 2017.


Craig Eastman is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, his writing and playing featured on many films including Black Hawk Down, Pirates of the Carribean, Brokeback Mountain. He has recorded with artists ranging from Elton John to Ray Charles, Hans Zimmer, T Bone Burnett and Steve Martin.


Guy DeVito is a bassist and record producer who has called New England his home since his arrival in 1969 as a founding member of the premiere rock group, FAT. During his twelve year tenure the group recorded for RCA, Atlantic and their own Dream Merchant Records, and toured internationally.

Matt Stamell recently recorded a CD of mostly original material that spans his lifetime. Matt has played guitar and been writing songs since he was 14 years old. He started a folk festival while at Hobart College in the 1970s and was an active performer on the folk scene for many years.

He recorded the record in Los Angeles with his old friend Craig Eastman. Craig is a master fiddler, mandolinist and multi instrumentalist. Craig has worked in Los Angeles for many years, working with Hans Zimmer on such films as Pirates of the Carribean, Black Hawk Down, The Alamo, and others. He also recently was the composer for the film The Duel starring Woody Harrelson. Craig enlisted some of his LA musician friends to play
on Matt's CD, including David P. Jackson, Blair Sinta, Matt Cartsonis, and others.

The CD is entitled "Hello Old Friend".
